Biography
Bruce W. Flessner is a coach, teacher and consultant to great colleges, universities and healthcare institutions around the world and proud to join GG+A’s expanding initiatives in Advancement Learning Workshops and Programs. Bruce brings over four decades of advancement experience to clients including 35 years of consulting experience plus senior development staff roles at a leading a liberal arts college, a major public university and an international university. He understands the power of talented development staff and visionary academic and medical leaders working with far-sighted donors to achieve great goals.
Flessner was a founder of Bentz Whaley Flessner and led the firm for over 35 years. He served scores of client engagements including counsel for record setting campaigns for public universities, liberal arts colleges, and children’s hospitals. Bruce led hundreds of training sessions for trustees, Presidents, deans, and advancement staff.
Flessner is a frequent speaker at CASE, AHP and AFP conferences and was a long serving faculty member at BTFRI. Bruce was the first male to serve on the Women’s Philanthropy Institute council. He has served on CASE workgroups and the Council of Foundation’s New Ventures in Philanthropy. Bruce has taught courses on philanthropy at St. Mary’s University and Metro State University. A thought leader for a generation, Bruce has written extensively about challenges facing development efforts at educational and healthcare institutions.
