Biography
Valerie Boulet, Vice President, brings extensive fundraising experience in the arts, charity and academic sectors to GG+A Europe. As a French native and current UK resident, Valerie offers a unique perspective on employing GG+A’s menu of comprehensive consulting services and analytical tools, offering creative solutions to navigating varied philanthropic landscapes and meeting fundraising goals. Valerie’s breadth of experiences across a spectrum of fundraising environments in Europe adds significant value to the GG+A brand of services.
Valerie has held several fundraising leadership positions in London and Paris. Currently, she works as Director of Development and Alumni Relations at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, a world leading institution for research and postgraduate education in public and global health. In this role, Valerie is responsible for delivery of the School’s advancement agenda, which embraces Development, philanthropic fundraising, and Alumni Relations.
Prior to this, Valerie served as Associate Head of Major Gifts and Head of Partnership Funding at King’s College London, where she led the major gifts fundraising team in securing major gifts from a variety of constituent groups and building effective relationships with key external and internal stakeholders. Prior to King’s College, Valerie was Head of Fundraising and Membership at Horniman Museum and Gardens in London, where she was responsible for recruiting a high-performing fundraising team, developing a comprehensive fundraising and membership strategy focused on key revenue streams, and creating a strategic approach to soliciting a wide range of donors— including visitors, members, foundations, high net worth individuals, and private businesses. Due to her campaign management and implementation efforts, Valerie secured £3.7 million against the Museum’s £4.6 million goal during her tenure.
Valerie has contributed her fundraising, relationship building, and communications expertise to a number of other fundraising efforts based in London, holding the positions of Director of Fundraising for Oval House; Senior Development Manager for the Geffrye Museum; and Public Relations and Community Relations Manager at Ace of Clubs, Homeless Charity. Before moving to London, she held communications and development positions in Paris, serving as Public Relations and Communications Senior Manager for EDF (Electricité de France) and Development Manager at Musée du Louvre in Paris.
Along with professional work in the field, Valerie maintains a number of voluntary engagements including membership and speaking engagements with CASE Europe (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) and consulting work for the Refugees and Arts Initiative in London. She is also a visiting lecturer at Université Cergy and South Bank University where she teaches fundraising for the arts and sponsorship and funding in France and the UK.
Valerie holds an MA in Communication Management from London Guildhall University, an MA in Communication and Human Resources from Sciences Po in Paris, an MA in Medieval History from University Paris X – Nanterre, and a BA in History from Lycée Lakanal - University Paris X – Nanterre.
