Ralph Silverio

Biography
Ralph Silverio, Consulting Vice President, brings more than 40 years of professional experience in development for non-profit institutions, with particularly extensive experience working with health care institutions. Since joining the firm in 2002, Ralph has worked with academic medical centers and community-based healthcare institutions across the country while maintaining his interests in higher education and social service organizations.
Before joining the firm, Ralph had a 12-year tenure at Advocate Aurora Health Care, the Chicago area’s largest health care provider. Ralph held several leadership positions within the foundation, culminating in his service as the first Vice President of Campaign Planning and Implementation. In this role, he designed and led the first system-wide campaign.
Prior to his work with Advocate Aurora Health Care, Ralph served as Director of Development for Lutheran General Foundation. He also spent nine years at the fundraising consultancy firm Sumner Rahr & Company serving in several roles. His responsibilities included conducting evaluative studies and program assessments; designing, implementing, and integrating development programs for annual, capital, and special gift campaigns; developing fundraising and communication materials through comprehensive writing services; and creating and implementing institutional vision through long-range and strategic planning.
Earlier in his career, Ralph served as the hospital chaplain to Chaplain Corps, Archdiocese of Chicago, where he was a full-time Catholic chaplain to major Chicago hospitals. He has also worked at the National College of Education as Assistant to the President.
Ralph received a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and master’s and doctoral degrees in theology from The University of Chicago. His seminary studies include the Gregorian University in Rome, Italy and St. Mary’s of the Lake in Mundelein, Illinois.
